Why should I hire the Thornon Law Firm?

Hiring David Thornton can only enhance the chances that you will be successful. Attorney David L. Thornton is a Certified Legal Specialist in civil trial law, family law, and personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. This means that he can call himself an expert when it comes to these areas of the law. He has the legal insight and skills you need to resolve your family law case as quickly and effectively as possible.

What does it mean to have an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®?

Our firm has maintained an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell® for more than 20 years. This professional distinction signifies the very pinnacle of professional excellence earned through a strenuous peer review rating process. Since 1887, the Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ process has evaluated lawyers in the U.S. and Canada solely based upon peer review. The process attests to a lawyer's legal ability and professional ethics, and reflects the confidential opinions of the Bar and the Judiciary. In other words, we have earned the respect and admiration of our peers for our commitment to professional excellence.

What is mediation?

Mediation is an alternative to traditional divorce proceedings. Mediation allows a couple to divorce behind closed doors, in a more private setting than a courtroom. With the help of our firm's Certified Mediator, a couple can come to an amicable agreement about all divorce-related matters, such as property division and child custody.

Most courts now require the parties to attend mediation before their family law case is considered by the court.
